THE DIGITISING PROCESSDespite
what most people think, to embroider a design, we cannot scan the
image, press a few buttons on the computer and magic the machine
to sew out a perfect replica of the original. If only life were
that simple! In fact the DIGITISING process can take many hours
of sweat, tears and coffee. True, a logo is scanned into the computer,
but to be used purely as a background image on the screen. The long
stitch building process can then begin ...
COSTINGDigitising - The cost of setting up a digitised design is based on the number of stitches in the finished file. There is a one-off charge, payable even if no garments are subsequently ordered. Estimates are available on request. Stock designs - Pre-digitised designs supplied by the customer, and designs containing lettering only (in a font within the embroidery software owned by Katya Embroidery) do not incur a digitising charge. Any alteration work required to stock or pre-digitised designs is charged at an hourly rate. Embroidery - The cost of each embroidery is also based on the number of stitches being sewn. Katya Embroidery has no minimum order requirement - single requests are welcome. Delivery - Delivery and insurance are charged at cost price. Disclaimer - Where the client provides the garment to be embroidered, a disclaimer absolving Katya Embroidery of liability for any damage caused during the embroidery process must be signed prior to work being started.
